Construction to cause street closures in Tempe
Construction to cause street closures in Tempe
TEMPE, Ariz. - Two construction projects will close portions of Tempe
streets and freeways this weekend.
Loop 101 southbound in Tempe will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m.
Monday between Rio Salado Parkway and the US 60. The reason for this closure
is to allow ADOT's contractor to install rubberized asphalt. All traffic
will be detoured to Price Road. All cross streets will remain open.
The intersection at Priest Drive and Southern Avenue will be closed for
three weekends in October. All closures will be from 9 p.m. Friday to 5
a.m. Monday. The closures will take place as follows:
* Oct. 15 to Oct. 18
* Oct. 22 to Oct. 25
* Oct. 29 to Nov. 1
Southern Avenue traffic will be detoured at 48th Street and Mill Avenue.
Priest Drive traffic will be detoured at Broadway and Baseline roads. Local
access will be maintained to all businesses and residential streets.
Pedestrian, buses and emergency services will be allowed through the
intersection with police assistance.
The reason for these closures is to allow the City's contractor to install
a new sewer diversion structure in the middle of the intersection
