Residents invited to participate in safety day event
In recognition of National Fire Prevention Week, the City of Mesa Gas
Division will take part in a community barbecue and safety day sponsored by
Rural/Metro Fire Department. Other participants include Southwest
Ambulance, Arizona Blue Stake and Walker Butte School PTO.
The event will feature demonstrations, games, and activities for kids and
adults to learn the latest on fire safety and other important life-saving
techniques. The Gas Division will present natural gas safety information,
and event goers will have an opportunity to win a natural gas barbecue
grill being raffled off by the City.
The City of Mesa provides natural gas service to approximately 4,000
customers in the Queen Creek area, as well as 44,000 customers within Mesa
city limits.
Mesa residents are invited to attend the event, being held in the Greater
Johnson Ranch Area from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Walker Butte School,
29697 N. Desert Willow Blvd., Queen Creek. Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks
will be provided free of charge to the first 500 people or until the food
