TREASURES N' TRASH CLEANUP

REGISTRATION UNDER WAY FOR TREASURES N' TRASH CLEANUP. Registration is taking place to participate in the Ninth Annual Treasures N' Trash citywide litter clean-up event scheduled for Oct. 23. Residents, ages 12 and up, are invited to join the effort to help beautify more than 100 miles of city roadways. To register, call (480) 312-3111. Volunteers will be assigned a roadway and be provided with safety vests, clean-up bags and water. The first 400 volunteers will receive a free Treasures N' Trash 2004 commemorative t-shirt.
As a fun feature of the cleanup effort, 50 "gold" rocks will be scattered throughout roadways the day of the event. Participants locating a gold rock can redeem it for extra treasure.
