Annual Light Parade To Light Up Central Phoenix Dec. 4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nov. 9, 2004

For the 18th straight year, the APS Electric Light Parade will bring a dazzling display of lighted floats and costumes to central Phoenix. More than 60 entries, from brilliantly lighted floats to musical and dance performance groups, will grace the parade route.

This year's parade, themed "A Child's Dream," will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 and proceed along Central Avenue from Missouri to Thomas Road. Up to 200,000 spectators are expected to view the gala along the parade route.

All entries in the APS Electric Light Parade - even individuals in performance groups who walk the route - are decorated in holiday lights. In years past, some entries have sported more than 50,000 lights. In addition to the floats, performance groups and bands also will take part.

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department produces the APS Electric Light Parade.
