Tempe Police Offering FREE Auto Theft Deterrent

In the City of Tempe, we continue to beat the H.E.A.T. - Help Eliminate Auto
Theft. You can help us fight auto theft by participating in the FREE
Vehicle Identification Etching being offered by the Tempe Police
Department's Crime Prevention Unit.

Love your car - Give It a Tattoo. The etching is a permanent theft
deterrent device applied to all the window glass on your vehicle. When the
VIN number etchings are applied, thieves will see the etched windows and
will think twice about stealing your vehicle. As a result of the etching,
thieves will have to replace every piece of glass on your vehicle before
illegally selling it. This costs the thieves extra time and money, enough
to make them move on to easier targets.



Please access entrance to the VIN Etching Event off of All American Way.
Residents will need to provide proof of vehicle ownership. Drivers will be
given the opportunity to sign up for the FREE Watch Your Car Program.



In addition, we will be offering FREE visual anti-theft devices to the first
35 individuals to have their vehicle VIN Etched.
