Peg Davis Wins CIO Ones to Watch Award
Peg Davis, deputy chief information officer in the city’s Information Technology Department, has been selected as one of the 2005 CIO Ones to Watch. The award, sponsored by CIO magazine, recognizes the rising stars of information technology as tomorrow’s technology leaders.
Faced with four straight years of budget cuts, Davis and her telecom services staff constantly brainstorm creative ways to do more with less. Her tough approach to contracts, warranties and service-level agreements, and its regular audits, are saving the city more than $1 million annually while freeing up funds for new initiatives. Under Davis' empowering leadership, the telecom team delivers customer-focused and cost-effective services.
“Peg is an invaluable asset to the city’s information technology team. Her leadership and innovation have improved the value and level of our customer service. She truly is a rising star in this organization,” said Acting Chief Information Officer Kristine Sigfridson.
Davis, 45, began her career with the city of Phoenix in 1999 as a deputy chief information officer. She oversees the enterprise telecommunication services and network infrastructure section. For more information about the 2005 Ones to Watch Award, visit www.cio.com/archive/071505/otw_intro.html.
