Tempe's Rental Housing Task Force is holding first meeting
TEMPE, Ariz. - The first meeting for the newly approved City of Tempe Ad
Hoc Rental Housing Task Force will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sept.
27 in the City Council Chambers, garden level of City Hall, 31 East
Fifth Street.
The task force has been implemented to examine rental housing issues in
Tempe by reviewing current practices and developing new tools to combat
the negative effects of rentals on neighborhoods.
"Rental housing is a critical issue for all Tempe residents," said Mayor
Hugh Hallman. "We are looking forward to working together as a team to
improve, preserve and protect our neighborhoods."
Members of the task force include: Mayor Hugh Hallman, Vice Mayor Mark
Mitchell, member of the Council's Technology Advancement, Tourism and
Redevelopment Committee; Councilmember Ben Arredondo, chair of the
Council's Neighborhood Quality of Life and Public Safety Committee; 13
community members and City staff members who work on neighborhood and
housing-related issues.
